Project “Contribute to tourism development by your own creative work!”

28.1.2009.

During period August 2008 - May 2009, Centre for Environmentally Sustainable Development from Sarajevo is implementing a project “Contribute to tourism development by your own creative work!” financed by the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
The main objectives of the project are:

• Raising high school student’s awareness on the values of natural and cultural-historical heritage in their surroundings, and
• Motivating students to give their creative contribution to preservation and promotion of natural and cultural-historical heritage as a potential touristic product, all towards development of tourism in B&H.

Within this project, during October and November 2008, presentations were held in high-schools on ecotourism and promotion of natural and cultural-historical heritage in B&H. Presentations took place in two high-schools in Federation B&H, namely in Tourism-Catering school in Sarajevo and Tourism-Catering school in Tuzla. Students were motivated to research by themselves on different segments of the heritage in their Cantons (cultural-historical, monuments, natural monuments, religious facilities, bridges, native creative work, water resources). As part of the research, students will be creating their own touristic offer in selected areas, thus contributing to tourism development in their Canton and in B&H
This type of approach contributes to strengthening the professional and research basis of tourism. Moreover, it contributes in raising awareness of young generation of people who appreciate the values of their surroundings and who contribute to their preservation by their own creative work, and who successfully present those values in aim of tourism development in B&H.

Plastic bags are distributed free of charge in shops, markets, and very often end up in wrong places: in rivers, parks, streets...The best examples are river Neretva on the exit from Konjica and river Bosna from Vogošće to Sava river - they look like rivers wrapped up in plastics or, say, Mostar in autumn, when wind makes this town become collection center of all plastic bags from Nevesinje to Čapljina.
